Charmer, 2018
Acrylic, LEDs, lasers, maple wood, steel frame, custom electronics
Though most pieces I make are defined in some way by the interrelation between the analog structure of the pieces and the digital controls, Charmer stands out as a rare gem because the wiring schematic is particularly complex and beautiful. This piece utilizes a double layer of electronics that’s meshed in a way which happens to produce distinct, unique, and complex patterns. The reds in the color spectrum are also particularly saturated in this instance because I’m using both red LEDs and red laser diodes.
